Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

What is mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?

Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, or mHBOT is the use of oxygen in a pressurized environment at a level higher than 1 atmosphere absolute (ATA).

What is the frequency for hyperbaric oxygen to be effective?

The number and frequency of treatments needed varies with the specific condition that is being treated. For many conditions, one or two treatments per day (Monday through Friday) is given for a total of 20 to 40 treatments, usually a total of four to six weeks.

Who is not a candidate for hyperbaric oxygen therapy?

The one absolute contraindication to hyperbaric oxygen treatment is a patient with an untreated pneumothorax. All patients should have lung imaging before treatment. If you have any reservations about this therapy, please consult your doctor to be sure that mHBOT is safe for you.
